Shopify, through its Venly app, has introduced Avalanche-based NFTs for its millions of merchants so they can be sold through their online stores.
NFTs: Shopify adds Avalanche blockchain
The ecommerce giant Shopify entered 2023 by adding the Avalanche blockchain for its NFT offering service dedicated to its millions of merchants.
Avalanche and @Shopify are joining forces to enable millions of Shopify merchants to create eco-friendly digital collectibles for the masses with the @Venly_io Shopify NFT App.

Basically, after Polygon, Shopify’s millions of merchants can now also design, mint, and sell Avalanche NFTs through their online store.
This new integration was made possible by Venly’s app, which creates an easy experience for the ecommerce giant’s buyers and merchants. In fact, it is in charge of the technological part, so buying and selling NFTs on Shopify does not require technical knowledge of the Blockchain.
In this regard, Tim Dierckxsens, CEO and co-founder of Venly said:
“With Shopify’s vision to make commerce better and our goal of making blockchain simpler, we offer businesses an accessible point of entry to both,” said Tim Dierckxsens, CEO & Cofounder of Venly. “The Venly Shopify NFT App provides users with the exciting opportunity to engage in Web3 eCommerce regardless of their technical expertise. Being a blockchain that is very fast, low cost, and eco-friendly, Avalanche was an obvious choice for us to provide businesses an excellent NFT sales solution.”
Avalanche NFTs: eco-friendly blockchain now available for ecommerce
This news is also an excellent opportunity for the so-called ‘green’ blockchain of Avalanche, which is making its NFTs available to a behemoth that generates $1 billion in revenue per quarter.
Buying and selling NFTs for customers will be as seamless as the merchant’s existing experience, as Avalanche is able to finalize almost instantly and at low cost.
In this regard, John Nahas, VP of Business Development at Ava Labs said:
“The Venly Shopify NFT app gives millions of Shopify merchants the ability to quickly level up their digital stores with the speed and eco-friendliness of Avalanche NFTs. The integration makes it easy to navigate Avalanche NFT sales from initial design all the way through final distribution. The app powered by Avalanche marks a step forward for Web3 UX — and NFT enjoyers all over the world.”
Integration on OpenSea
The current news about Avalanche NFTs, follows what was last October their integration on the most popular Non-Fungible Token marketplace, OpenSea.
OpenSea has added support for Avalanche Blockchain so as to help creators, collectors and contributors engage with NFTs a greater number of chains and provide the best possible selection.
As such, Avalanche results in faster finalization for NFT transactions and consistently low transaction fees.
Not only that, OpenSea has joined the existing Avalanche NFT marketplaces of Joepegs, Kalao, Campfire, and NFTrade that offer the Avalanche community a home to showcase, list, and trade NFTs.
Avalanche (AVAX) is up 15% in the last 7 days
While Avalanche’s NFTs will soon be minted by more users, the AVAX crypto appears to have experienced a 15% price pump over the past 7 days, the time of Shopify’s news.
Indeed, AVAX has gone from $10 last week, to the current $12.50 (time of writing).
The 18th crypto now has nearly $3.9 billion in total market capitalization, with a dominance of 0.46%.
Admittedly, the current price is a short-term pump that is still a far cry from AVAX’s $89 price last year. And even further from its ATH – All Time-High (or all-time high) of $128 touched in November 2021.
