The lead developer behind Shiba Inu’s big ecosystem expansion is offering an initial glimpse at some of the first crypto projects that could launch on the network.
Shiba Inu is building a layer-2 protocol on Ethereum that’s similar in concept to projects like Polygon, Arbitrum and Optimism.
The protocol, called Shibarium, will allow people to launch custom crypto projects and tokens that are essentially built on and powered by Shiba Inu (SHIB).
As the team prepares for a beta launch, pseudonymous lead developer Shytoshi Kusama is detailing some initial expectations on Discord.
The developer says several projects are likely to launch on Shibarium once it’s live.
“I’m so excited to see projects like F9, Ufo Mbet VXL and other tokens utilize Shibarium and our other platforms. That’s the point right?!”
The projects mentioned by Kusama are relative crypto newcomers.
For example, Falcon 9 is a launchpad designed to give developers a place to promote and launch new crypto projects.
And UFO Gaming aims to be a decentralized gaming platform with plans to bring crypto to the world of eSports.
So far, the team behind Shibarium has not released a firm launch date for the layer-2 network, although they have said the beta is coming soon.
