The Web3 Foundation and the Digital Economy Consortium (DEC) Institute have recently joined forces with edX, a leading online learning platform, to empower professionals worldwide to embark on or enhance their careers in the blockchain sector. As part of the Web3 Foundation’s continuous commitment to Web3 education, the foundation has collaborated with the DEC to develop course content on edX.

Consequently, two Professional Certificate programs will be introduced on edX.org, enabling learners to pursue a Chartered Blockchain Analyst (CBA®) or Chartered Digital Asset Analyst (CDAA®) continuing education certificate.

Developing Essential Skills for the Digital Economy

The DEC Professional Certificate programs on edX are designed to cultivate and reinforce critical professional skills necessary for success in today’s most in-demand fields. The curriculum is developed through the DEC’s partnerships with many top-tier blockchain education providers and industry associates.

Bill Laboon, Head of Education and Grants at the Web3 Foundation, remarked that this achievement “signifies the formalization and professionalization of blockchain and Web3 education, as leading universities and industry players, including the Web3 Foundation, collaborate to establish a rigorous international standard.”

He further emphasized the importance of education in promoting a decentralized, equitable internet through Web3, asserting that “expanding access to high-quality education empowers future builders and developers in shaping Web3, instilling confidence in learners and employers about candidates’ skillsets.”

Meeting the Demand for Blockchain Professionals

These Web3 programs are essential to the job market, as they provide professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the fast-growing blockchain and decentralized technology sectors.

As more industries adopt Web3 technologies to bolster security, transparency, and efficiency, the demand for skilled professionals in this area continues to soar. By offering Web3 programs, educational institutions play a crucial role in closing the skills gap, fostering innovation, and empowering individuals to capitalize on career opportunities in this thriving field.
