Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has launched the Mumbai Metropolis Metaverse, an immersive virtual representation of Mumbai, with the aim of transforming the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) into a global city of dreams by 2025. The metaverse provides a 3D map showcasing ongoing infrastructure developments and offering a glimpse of the future amenities that will be available to the residents of Mumbai.

Fadnavis took to social media platform X to announce the launch of the Mumbai Metropolis Metaverse and invited Mumbaikars and lover of the city to explore the transformative journey that Mumbai is set to undergo in the coming months. The metaverse can be accessed through the link: https://mumbaimetaverse.com/explore.

Within the metaverse, Fadnavis highlighted 12 major projects that are currently underway and will reshape the metropolis. These projects include the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Corridor, Mumbai Metro, Coastal Road, Dharavi Project, Mumbai Port Trust Project, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (Atal Setu), Elevated Metro Lines, Airoli-Katai Tunnel Road, Virar-Alibagh Multimodal Corridor, Waste-water Treatment Plants, and Navi Mumbai International Airport.

During his speech at the Mumbai Tech Week, organised by the Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai, Fadnavis revealed that the government has been actively engaging with major technology companies to attract them to Maharashtra. He highlighted the state’s success in securing the largest data center investment from Amazon and its partnership with Google to establish a center of excellence in artificial intelligence.

“Many more investments in technology are coming in. There are two to three very big technology companies that are coming to Maharashtra,” he added according to Mint report.
