Yuga Labs, the entity behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club and the Otherworld metaverse, has acquired all assets belonging to the PROOF collective, encompassing the well-known Moonbirds NFT collection. The purchase aligns with Yuga’s vision to lead web3 adoption.
PROOF’s team, intellectual property, and artwork will become part of the Yuga family as part of the deal. Moonbirds will be integrated into Otherside, bringing creators, brands, and communities together.
Daniel Alegre, CEO of Yuga, expressed the company’s responsibility to promote art and culture on the blockchain as they integrate PROOF into Yuga’s ecosystem. He mentioned that Moonbirds would enhance the Otherworld experience and sees the PROOF collective contributing to Yuga’s art and community development efforts.
Moreover, PROOF CEO Kevin Rose will stay temporarily to ease the transition before becoming an advisor. In addition, Jesse Bryan, Josh Ong, and Amanda Gadbow will manage Moonbird’s migration to Yuga.
Rose stated that Otherside offers an ideal environment for Moonbirds collectors, emphasizing that the collaboration will lead to quicker innovations and more user engagement. She expressed passion for the promising journey ahead.
