The leading cryptocurrency company, Tether, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Agency of Perspective Projects (NAPP), to transform the nation into a pivotal hub for blockchain innovation and peer-to-peer technology.
Under the partnership, Tether will aid in shaping Uzbekistan’s crypto regulations and policy framework. The focus includes establishing a digital currency and refining payment infrastructure. This move aligns with Tether’s mission to foster global digital asset ecosystems.
The central bank will set up a digital currency and review the existing payment infrastructure. Consequently, Tether is in line with its broader vision to support worldwide digital asset markets.
Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, said, “This cooperation is evidence of Tether’s commitment to create innovation and develop the digital asset’s ecosystem in a way which is responsible globally.”
Tether’s scheme also targets education and invests in educational projects that increase awareness about blockchain and stablecoins.
The NAPP Director, Lee Dmitriy Romanovich, said, ”This collaboration represents a significant step in harnessing the enormous potential of blockchain technology and crypto-assets in general.”
Tether’s recent $380 million purchase of Bitcoins is another example of massive interest in crypto from Tether. In September 2022, Tether invested a total sum of $66,465,000 or BTC in its reserve holdings.
Tether’s strategic partnership with Uzbekistan to advance blockchain and crypto initiatives, coupled with its commitment to education and significant Bitcoin investments, reflects a robust global vision for responsible development in the digital asset ecosystem.
