Argentine FA takes its world champion team to conquer the metaverse

December 9 – The Argentine economy is in meltdown however the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) has never had so much success, and that looks to continue as they are about to step into the Metaverse.

AFA has partnered with Guardians of the Ball, becoming the first national football federation to embrace this virtual platform, creating new opportunities for digital interaction with fans worldwide.

Fans of La Albicelesta will find a platform that offers real-time interaction, community challenges, mini-games, and the chance to experience matches in 3D-rendered replicas of real stadiums. The environment also features options to purchase official digital and physical products, providing a new way to engage with the AFA brand.

Claudio Tapia, president of AFA, emphasised that the partnership aligns with the organization’s strategy: “This initiative lets us offer innovative experiences to our fans, bringing them even closer to our team. It’s a step forward in AFA’s digital development.”

CEO of Guardians of the Ball, Alan Cura, shared his perspective: “We are thrilled to collaborate with AFA to bring the Argentine national team into the Metaverse. This platform allows fans worldwide to stay close to the team, no matter where they are or what time it is.”

Leandro Petersen, AFA’s Marketing and Sales Director, added: “We aim to be leaders in innovative solutions and attract fans from around the globe. This partnership with Guardians of the Ball is a crucial part of our strategy, blending tradition with modern technology.”

The Metaverse is a new world for sporting organizations. The space is wide open and AFA believes that they can be pioneers in leveraging virtual tools in sports, offering fans innovative ways to connect with the national team.
