MMORPG publisher Valofe’s entire P2E blockchain platform has shut down

So if the name “Valofe” doesn’t mean anything to you in particular, that may be because you’ve just missed its presence in the MMO industry over the past several years, but its presence has not exactly been lauded. Aside from sunsets of MMORPGs like Riders of Icarus and Kritika Zero, the company is best known for taking over one of the many versions of Bless Unleashed and SoulWorker and then going ham on blockchain. And now Valofe’s entire play-to-earn banner has been quietly abandoned, it turns out.

The VFUN Ground service, which was the header for all of Valofe’s play-to-earn titles, was apparently shuttered at the end of January along with all associated titles. No specific reason has been given, although it’s not exactly difficult to guess why (some combination of crypto gaming being unpopular, no one wanting play-to-earn games, and the currencies all losing the value supposedly making this worthwhile). So if you still hold some of their crypto tokens… well, we’re sorry for your self-imposed financial loss, but those tokens are now not even theoretically worth something. What a great business model.
