Solana Rodriguez, Pine Grove
What accomplishments are you most proud of and why?
I am most proud of creating a new school club, The Breakfast Club. Every Friday morning, members sell coffee, refreshers, and cake pops to both staff and students. I take pride in this because I feel I was able to make a positive impact on PGAHS. It is rewarding to see students and staff look forward to Fridays because of our efforts. Being part of something that brings the school community together is especially meaningful to me.
What were your most rewarding school or community activities?
My most rewarding school/community activity has been volunteering at our Coach Wylie Youth Soccer Camp, where I help teach elementary and middle school students new skills. I find it especially meaningful because the kids remember us and our impact. After games, they often come up to us excited and proud to say they know us. Some even invite us to their youth games, which shows how well we have connected. Seeing their growth and enthusiasm makes the experience truly rewarding.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy doing outdoor activities. Whether I am swimming, hiking, or taking my dog for a walk, I always appreciate getting fresh air. Being outside helps me relax and clear my mind. I enjoy staying active while also spending time in nature. Overall, outdoor activities are something I always look forward to.
What are your plans after high school graduation?
After high school, I plan to attend Penn State Schuylkill to major in biology. I chose this path because I am still undecided about my specific career. This major will allow me to explore different opportunities within a focused field. I know I would like to pursue a career in the medical field, and this will help me narrow my interests. Overall, it gives me the flexibility to discover the path that is right for me.
What do you see yourself doing and where do you see yourself living in 15 years?
In 15 years, I can see myself living outside of Pine Grove but still in the surrounding area. I plan to have a stable career in the medical field. I also hope to be well established in my profession by that time. In addition, I would like to have a family of my own. Overall, I hope to build a balanced and fulfilling life.
Whom do you most admire and why?
I most admire my mom because of her strong work ethic and reliability. Watching how she manages challenges has shown me the importance of staying focused and responsible. She consistently pushes me to be the best version of myself, which is why I’m able to fill out this form. Her example has influenced how I approach my own goals and work, so I am forever grateful to have her as my role model.
