Tommy Hilfiger Enters the Metaverse With AR Try-On Feature

Augmented reality technology company Zero10 is working with Tommy Hilfiger to bring its AR clothing “try-on” experience to three brick-and-mortar Tommy Hilfiger stores throughout Europe.

Zero10’s AR Mirror technology lets shoppers virtually try on clothing in retail stores using an in-store kiosk. The technology utilizes 3D body tracking, multiclass segmentation, and cloth simulation to allow the clothing to look realistic on screen.

“After working on our proprietary technology for two years, building the high-quality virtual try-on, it’s a significant step for Zero10 to finally bring the AR Mirror to the real world and provide new experiences for retail,” said George Yashin, CEO of Zero10. “We believe that collaborations with innovative brands like Tommy Hilfiger will help to accelerate changes in the industry.”

With this collaboration, in-store shoppers will be able to try on 10 digital designs from the Tommy X Shawn Classics Reborn collection. Three of these virtual looks will be accompanied by “animated effects.” People around the world will also be able to try on the digital collection in AR through the Zero10 mobile application, which is available to download for free on iOS devices.

Zero10’s AR Mirror technology will be available in Tommy Hilfiger stores in London, Berlin and Milan.

In addition to partnering with retail brands, Zero10 offers an AR Fashion Platform for creators and businesses who can apply to have their digital creations made available to try on through AR in the Zero10 app.
