Binance Coin (BNB) recently announced a host of changes in April to improve the network’s security. The upgrade would improve Binance Coin (BNB)’s cross-chain bridge between Beacon Chain and the Smart Chain. These security upgrades would give validators greater ability to prevent fraudulent transactions.
The security upgrades on Binance Coin (BNB) could not have come at a better time. Binance Coin (BNB) was one of the most targeted networks for cross-bridge hacks in Q1, 2023. Binance Coin (BNB) alone had 33 incidents of hacking which represented about 40% of all losses from cross-chain bridges. There were fears that the increasing attacks on Binance Coin (BNB) could slow its global adoption.
However, on-chain data suggests otherwise. Daily active users on Binance Coin (BNB) had grown by about 10% in March. Transaction fees on Binance Coin (BNB) have also grown considerably in the past few weeks.
