Republicans on the Senate Banking Committee are preparing to release another discussion draft of crypto market structure overhauls as soon as Friday, this time with input from industry and K Street, according to multiple people involved in the process.
But key Democrats – who have not weighed in on the latest draft – are warning the GOP sprint to mark up this crypto bill by the end of September could imperil the whole endeavor.
“It would be a disaster if the majority were to rush the process,” Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) said in a Thursday interview. “Market structure is exponentially more difficult than stablecoins.”
