Flint City Councilman denied motion to remove GPS tether

FLINT, Mich. – A Flint City Councilman who is facing charges related to an alleged domestic dispute was denied a motion to remove his GPS tether.

First ward Flint City Council member Leon El-Alamin was in court on Tuesday for a pre-trail hearing.

According to court documents, his attorney made a motion to allow El-Alamin to have the tether removed, and to allow him to return to a property he owns in Mt. Morris Township for insurance purposes.

That house in Mt. Morris Township has caught fire multiple times, and the incidents are being investigated as possible arson.
