Casa de Amistad, a local nonprofit youth development and education organization, is honored by the Del Mar-Solana Beach Rotary Club’s support of its Kinder to College Study Companions program. Proceeds from the club’s “Beers, Brats & BBQ” fundraiser last fall at Viewpoint Brewing Company are helping to support the club’s Next Generation youth initiatives, which include Casa de Amistad’s Kinder to College Study Companions program, according to a news release.
The Kinder to College Study Companions program guides local children and teens through their academic journeys and helps students map out their pathways to future careers. The program annually supports hundreds of economically and academically challenged students from North County San Diego.
Funds from the DMSB Rotary Club will support weekly one-on-one academic instruction and mentoring provided by trained volunteers, STEM-focused enrichment activities, college preparation and career exploration for teens, and parent engagement workshops. Said one student in the news release, “Casa de Amistad has shown me that I could do anything that I put my mind to.”
“Casa de Amistad is proud to partner with the DMSB Rotary Club to support our community’s next generation of leaders,” the news release stated.
