MoonPay, the Dogecoin Foundation, and its corporate arm House of Doge have jointly donated 1 million $DOGE to the AKC Humane Fund, marking one of the largest crypto contributions the organization has received to date.
The donation will help fund critical programs including domestic violence shelter support for pet owners, emergency veterinary assistance, and rescue initiatives for vulnerable dogs across the United States.
But the bigger shift is structural.

Turning Community Energy Into Impact
For the first time, the AKC Humane Fund is now equipped to accept Dogecoin and other cryptocurrencies directly through MoonPay Commerce, opening a new payment rail for donations that connects digital asset holders with traditional charitable infrastructure.
“This campaign brings Dogecoin’s purpose to life,” said Marco Margiotta, CEO of House of Doge. “We’re turning community energy into real-world impact for dogs in need.”
MoonPay, which is powering the donation infrastructure, says the initiative reflects a broader evolution in how crypto can be used beyond markets and speculation.
“Dogs have always brought out the best in us. Now the Doge community is helping bring that same energy into crypto giving,” said Keith A. Grossman, President of MoonPay.
The AKC Humane Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit affiliated with the American Kennel Club, focuses on strengthening the bond between dogs and their owners through targeted grants and support programs. Its work spans shelter partnerships for domestic violence survivors, rescue operations, and veterinary care assistance for families facing financial hardship.
Dogecoin’s “Do Only Good Everyday” Ethos
Dogecoin’s involvement leans into its long-running “Do Only Good Everyday” ethos, which has evolved from internet culture into recurring real-world charitable activity.
“Dogecoin has always been about community and doing good,” said Tim Stebbing of the Dogecoin Foundation. “This is a natural extension of that mission.”
With crypto donations now enabled through MoonPay Commerce, supporters can contribute in $DOGE or other supported digital assets, alongside traditional payment methods, directly through the AKC Humane Fund’s giving portal.
It’s a small technical integration with a larger signal: crypto rails are steadily moving from experimental use cases into mainstream philanthropy infrastructure.
