Mythos Studios Launches 1-of-1 Marvel NFT Collection
Marvel Studios founder David Maisel has announced the launch of a 1-of-1 NFT collection from his entertainment company, Mythos Studios. The digital art collection includes both “1/1 published colored art” and new “1/1 pieces.” Markedly, the art in the collection draws inspiration from various sources, including classic Marvel comics, the Pop Art movement, Marvel’s iconic black light posters from the 70s, Broadway, and the art and energy of web3. Additionally, the NFT collection features the work of artists who have worked with Marvel. Firstly, Michael Turner, an American comic book artist who worked on both Marvel and DC comics. Secondly, Peter Steigerwald, who worked closely with Turner and was also a colorist on DC and Marvel comics. Back in May 2021, Mythos Studios achieved success with their NFT drops, selling two pieces of Michael Turner’s art to a collector for $100,000.
So, how do we get hold of the upcoming Marvel NFTs? As of April 24th, collectors can make a pre-auction deposit. This costs 10 ETH and grants access to receive a bonus NFT from the Ekos Genesis Art Portraits collection. Significantly, this collection features 100 unique art pieces separate from the Mythos Studios collection. The team has announced that only 995 Ekos Genesis Art pieces will be up for grabs during an 88-minute Dutch-style auction on May 2nd.
